Steve Karloski Sculpture
Steve Karloski Sculpture
On the Events page you will see that Steve is being featured as the Artist of the Month at Café Harmony in Raleigh.
Also on the Events page you will see Steve’s work is going to be on display and for sale at the Wake Forest Pottery Fest on September 11th and in Hampstead at the Spot Festival on September 25th & 26th.
Despite his love for drawing, painting, photography, and other two-dimensional efforts, ceramic sculpture has dominated his creative experience for the last several years. The act of creating a physical object that occupies our three-dimensional world is something he finds highly gratifying as an artist. For his subject matter, sculptures possess the power to entertain, create dialogue, and interact with both Steve and fellow art lovers. He is always very pleased when his work captures and stirs the imagination of someone who may not ordinarily appreciate art the way many of us do. The added dimension of sculpture seems to speak a bit more loudly to the viewer, beckoning, engaging, and sharing our physical reality.
Steve’s sculptures range from realistic to expressive to abstract. His masks allow the viewer to contemplate humanity in subtle or complex ways, while many of his ceramic forms explore botanical forms, experimenting with an endless array of sculptural options.
